Important announcement to HOPE-JP Supporters

HOPE-JP and Global Medic are organizing with the help of Hilton Nagoya a Donation Drive on Saturday 19th of March selected items and funds desperately needed by the victims of the Tohoku earthquake.

This Donation Drive is in addition to the ongoing Food Drive organized by Hilton Nagoya. They are collecting non perishable food items in the hotel lobby.

Today marks one week after the greatest earthquake ever recorded in Japanese history hit the Tohoku area. There are now around four hundred thousand people who have lost their homes or who have been evacuated and are now living in shelters throughout Northern Japan.

Tomorrow, Saturday 19th of March, we will have a two-ton truck parked at the Hilton Nagoya which will be filled with your donated items and will be driven out to the Sendai area that same evening and arriving the next morning ready to distribute the collected supplies.

We are in need of donations of selected items, funds and volunteers.


Where: Hilton Nagoya (5 minutes walk from exit 7 of Fushimi station).

When: From 8am to 4pm on Saturday, 19th of March, 2011.

Items needed: Items marked with an asterisk (*) must be donated in new and unopened packaging


•    Diapers – Adult and baby *

•    Baby formula *

•    New baby bottles

•    Sanitary Napkins * (No tampons, please)

•    Hokkairo * (heating patch)

•    For packing and shipping purposes we are asking for cardboard boxes and packing tape

•    For this shipment we are not collecting clothing items, blankets or food. Please do not bring any of these items at this time.
